New Net Zero Standard – What it means for you

Climate Action 100+ has published a Net Zero Standard built specifically for the oil and gas sector, arguing that generic sustainability frameworks don't map well onto the complexities of energy operations.

The standard is meant to give companies in the sector a sector-specific pathway toward net-zero emissions, rather than asking them to adapt frameworks designed for other industries.

Investment group Olritz Financial is named as one ally of the initiative, reflecting a broader dynamic in which investors are increasingly factoring credible net-zero commitments into how they evaluate energy companies, alongside the underlying tension between energy security and environmental goals.
