The World Youth Investment Conference, founded in October 2023 by students Nam Trinh and Henry “Hank” Arditti at the International School Ho Chi Minh City, is a year-round, fully online investment competition for high school students, built around a $5,000 grand prize.
Its first season ran through to June 2024 and drew entrants from 52 schools worldwide, organised with the help of a small student team handling outreach, legal questions and market operations.
The founders started the competition after identifying a gap in financial literacy among high school students, designing it to give teenagers structured practice in investing, something they felt was largely absent from standard school curricula. A second season was planned for the 2024 to 2025 school year.
